New York Fashion Week is the fashion week that all the fashion maniacs wait for with baited breath. The 2017 New York Fashion Week has the entire world talking about it. In fact, there is another reason to celebrate as this year various beauty queens have also graced the ramp of the New York Fashion Week.
The NYFW 2017 officially kicked off on Feb. 9 and to add to the glamour of the week-long show, a number of beauty queens and other unexpected head-turners graced the runway. Miss Universe 2012 first runner-up Janine Tugonon, Miss World Philippines 2014 Valerie Weigmann and Miss Universe 2015 first runner-up Ariadna Gutierrez were spotted in separate fashion shows at the NYFW.
Janine Tugonon graced the Fall/Winter 2017 fashion show of Malan Breton. Previously, the 27-year old was also featured as one of the models in a Victoria’s Secret Pink Commercial. Weigmann on the other hand walked the runway as part of the “Daughters of Artemis” show of Ane Amour. The collection composed exclusively of black and royal purple with hints of gold. Meanwhile, Gutierrez donned the collection of Michael Costello. The collection featured a variety of white lace and dotted transparent gowns, along with trimmings, floral appliqués and dramatic sleeves.
A bunch of Puerto Rican models also showed up at the New York Fashion Week. Former Miss Universe Puerto Rico Bodine Koehler Peña and Monic Marie Pérez along with Keyshla Maisonet also graced the NYFW 2017. While Monic and Keyshla were part of autumn-winter collection, Bodine donned a silver dress with pronounced neckline.
Along with these former beauty queens, the reigning Miss USA Deshauna Barber and Miss Universe Iris Mittenaere were also a part of the NYFW 2017
