On March 8th 2017, Pia Wurtzbach addressed the media at an event for Downy, and talked about her future plans, now that she has passed on her Miss Universe title to Iris Mittenaere. The beauty queen talked about her involvement in Asia’s Next Top Model (AsNTM) cycle 5, re-entering showbiz, and her contract with global talent management company IMG.

Talking about the Asia’s Next Top Model cycle 5, Pia said, “I started filming it actually while I was Miss Universe and actually it happened very close to the coronation night which meant that I had to really make use of the time that I was in Singapore to shoot it.” When asked whether she would want to pursue something in acting or hosting, the beauty queen said that she is open to both.
“I would love to explore my acting skills again but it’s been a while since I’ve been doing acting,” said Pia. Pia also plans to continue working with IMG, the talent agency that handles Miss Universe. Adding further details to it, the beauty queen said, “It’s like still being Miss Universe, but just not the reigning Miss Universe. So the same, it’s just like having, like the endorsements are still there, the advocacies are very much still there, I still have to go back to New York to report to Miss Universe, to visit Paula and Esther, and from there, we’ll see how it goes.”
Pia also talked about the ongoing Bb Pilipinas 2017 pageant and suggested few changes that the Organisation can amend this year. According to Pia, the Binibining Pilipinas Organisation should focus more on the Q&A round in context to the changes amended by the Miss Universe Ogranisation. “Now that we’ve seen the new format of Miss Universe, we know that Q&A is gonna be pretty tough, so you know, I’m excited to see if Binibini will change its format as well, which I think they should,” added Pia.
