Sandy Tabet vested 13 other contestants for the Miss Lebanon 2016 title and she was crowned by last year’s winner, Valerie Abou Chacra.
By winning the title, Tabet earned the right to represent Lebanon in Miss World 2016 which will be held in Washington, D.C. on December 18. Traditionally, the Miss Lebanon winner could represent the country in both Miss World and Miss Universe pageants.
However, there were unconfirmed reports that the Miss Lebanon pageant has lost the franchise for Miss Universe and the country could skip this year’s pageant while the new franchise holder has not yet chosen the country’s delegate.
Like the previous years, Miss Lebanon contestants walked the stage wearing Zuhair Murad gowns. Designer Zuhair Murad, talk show host Marcel Ghanem, supermodel Adriana Karembeu, business man Richard Pharaoh, media personality Marcelle Nadim and actress Razane Jammal served as judges.
