The new franchise holder for Miss Universe Korea is now Park Jeong-ah, also the national director for the country’s national Miss World qualifier. Kim will replace the winner of last year’s Miss Universe Korea pageant Min-ji Lee after its producer Hanju E&M company lost the franchise last year. There has some major revamps of franchise holders in several countries which could partly be part of some reforms instituted by WMG/IME, the new owner of the Miss Universe pageant.
