Adela Zoranic, a 20-year old model, was chosen to represent Montenegro in Miss Universe 2016. She is the current first runner-up to the Miss Montenegro 2016 winner. She will compete and will try to bring the first ever crown or placement for Montenegro in the Miss Universe pageant to be held in Manila, Philippines on January 29, 2017.
Adela succeeded Maja Čukić as Miss Universe Montenegro titleholder who was supposed to represent Montenegro at Miss Universe. She was 1st Runner-up at Miss Montenegro 2015.
Montenegro started participating in Miss Universe since 2007, a year after the Miss Montenegro pageant was established. Montenegro has never entered the Top 15 but was able to receive the Miss Congeniality award in 2011.
