Zun Than Sin was crowned as Miss Universe Myanmar 2017 and will represent Myanmar at Miss Universe 2017 in a date and location yet to be announced.
Zun Than Sin is a model and a gifted musician. She was born and raised in Yangon and studied Medicine at the National University of Arts and Culture.
Myanmar has started participating again at Miss Universe in 2013 when it sent a delegate to Moscow, Russia. But Myanmar already participated in 1959-1961 as Burma. Coincidentally, all the Miss Universe Myanmar winners have been from Yangon.
Since 2013, all representatives from Myanmar failed to place at Miss Universe. However, Miss Universe Myanmar 2016 Htet Htet Htun won the Best National Costume award which caused online sensation for her quirky display of the Burmese ancient art of puppetry.
